CLIPPERS MOVE BRADLEY TO MEMPHIS
The Los Angeles Clippers acquired forward/guard Garrett Temple and forward/center JaMychal Green from the Memphis Grizzlies for guard/forward Avery Bradley.
What does it give the Los Angeles Clippers
For the Clippers, it is all about moving out guaranteed contracts for 2019-20. By bringing in both Temple and Green, who are both expected to become free agents this summer, Los Angeles adds two solid veterans for a possible playoff run (if they choose that path). However, they also cleared out Bradley's contract in anticipation of making a major play for some of the NBA's biggest names in free agency this off-season.
What does it give the Memphis Grizzlies
For Memphis, Bradley is a player who might be able to stick around for some time. He is a solid pro who knows what it takes to win. He could become somewhat of a leader for the young Grizzlies, a team in the middle of a rebuild. He figures to start for Memphis and play his usual stellar defense. Unfortunately, Bradley is not a major scoring threat for a franchise that is trading center Marc Gasol (and Mike Conley may be next).
Fantasy impact
All of Temple, Green and Bradley should benefit from this trade, but none are great fantasy options regardless of their situations.
