MARCUS MORRIS MOVES TO THE CLIPPERS

In a three-team trade, the Los Angeles Clippers acquired forward Marcus Morris Sr. from the New York Knicks and guard Isaiah Thomas from the Washington Wizards; the Knicks acquired forward Maurice Harkless, a first-round draft pick in 2020, a protected first-round draft pick swap option in 2021 and a second-round draft pick in 2021 from Los Angeles and guard Issuf Sanon from Washington; and the Wizards acquired guard Jerome Robinson from Los Angeles.

What does it give the Los Angeles Clippers
In Morris Sr., the Clippers get another quality scoring option for their lineup. He will likely replace the departing Harkless as the starting power forward in LA, though Morris Sr. also has experience coming off the bench. Thomas, who was Washington's starting point guard this season, will come off the bench for the Clippers. He adds yet another scoring dimension on a team with visions of an NBA title this season.

What does it give the New York Knicks
The Knicks got a pretty good return for Morris Sr., who was having a very good campaign with New York. Harkless is four years younger than Morris Sr. and might become part of the Knicks' rebuilding plan. Sanon is a player they obviously scouted at length and like a lot, since they managed to get Washington to give him up as part of this three-way transaction. The two draft picks and possible swap of others acquired by New York to complete this trade are a bonus.

What does it give the Washington Wizards
For Washington, dumping veteran Thomas and unsigned draft pick Sanon for Robinson seems like a win at present time. The latter has some promise as a scoring guard but was obviously underutilized with the championship-contending Clippers. Soon to be 23, Robinson should see a fair amount of minutes down the stretch for the Wizards. The 13th overall pick in 2018 has a chance to become the steal of this trade with time and experience.

Fantasy impact
Both Morris Sr. and Thomas go from logging all kinds of minutes on poor teams to having to settle for a lot less on the Clippers. So, both should see a reduction in fantasy value. The opposite should be the case for both Harkless in New York and especially Robinson in Washington. Sanon is just a prospect at this point and does not need to be added (even in shallow keeper leagues).
