DIALLO DEALT TO DETROIT
The Detroit Pistons acquired guard/forward Hamidou Diallo from the Oklahoma City Thunder for guard/forward Svi Mykhailiuk and a second-round draft pick in 2027.
What does it give the Detroit Pistons
In Diallo, the Pistons land a talented wing who is still only 22 years old. He saw limited minutes with the Thunder but should become part of Detroit's core going forward. Look for Diallo to enter the starting lineup on the Pistons immediately and make an impact down the stretch in 2020-21.
What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
For the Thunder, this deal is mostly about giving Diallo a bigger opportunity somewhere else, as his path to playing time was significantly blocked by star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Mykhailiuk will now inherit Diallo's old role in Oklahoma City, with regular minutes off the bench.
Fantasy impact
Diallo immediately becomes a player to pick up in most fantasy formats, as his playing time and production are expected to rise astronomically in Detroit. As for Mykhailiuk, he can remain on the fantasy radar but wait and see on him. His utilization will determine whether or not he has value in deeper formats for the rest of this season.
