THABO THE NEWEST THUNDER

The Oklahoma City thunder acquired guard Thabo Sefolosha from the Chicago Bulls for a first-round draft pick in 2009.

What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
The Thunder need a promising young do-it-all shooting guard for their fast-improving young nucleus, and Sefolosha fits the bill. He is a highly athletic and versatile talent who started 14 games for the Bulls earlier this season, and the Thunder obviously hope he can challenge current starter Kyle Weaver for the top job. The first-rounder may seem a bit steep to some, but Sefolosha was the No.13 overall pick in the first round of the 2006 Draft.

What does it give the Chicago Bulls
The Bulls add a nice pick here for a player who wasn't playing for them much (and nice likely wouldn't have played much going forward after Chicago added John Salmons in an earlier trade. The Bulls also cut a little payroll by sending Sefolosha's modest contract (which has one year left on it after this one) to the Thunder.
