BUCKS LAND SALMONS

The Milwaukee Bucks acquired guard/forward John Salmons from the Chicago Bulls for forwards Joe Alexander and Hakim Warrick.

What does it give the Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks have been surprisingly competitive this season and adding a quality veteran scorer in Salmons can only help them with a playoff push. The fact he has another year after this one on his relatively hefty contract means they appear to expect him to get his game back on track aftger some struggles in Chicago. His addition likely pushes Carlos Delfino to the bench and may mean less playing time as well for Ersan Ilyasova.

What does it give the Chicago Bulls
The Bulls get two expiring contracts here in Warrick and Thomas, giving them more financial room to breathe over the summer than they would have had with Salmons (a player who fell out of their starting lineup this season). They can also get a closer look at Alexander, who has star-level talent but didn't pan out in Milwaukee. Warrick is an underrated talent who can add some scoring spark off the pine.
