BULLS BRING IN DeROZAN!

The Chicago Bulls acquired forward DeMar DeRozan from the San Antonio Spurs for forwards Thaddeus Young and Al-Farouq Aminu, a protected future first-round draft pick, a second-round draft pick in 2022 and a second-round draft pick in 2025.

What does it give the Chicago Bulls
Veteran DeRozan goes from a team on the playoff bubble in the Western Conference (Spurs) to a team looking to make some noise for the first time in a long time in the East. The Bulls will rely on DeRozan and fellow newcomer Lonzo Ball to jumpstart the team back into contention. Chicago is expected to play a lot with three guards on the floor at the same time, so look for DeRozan to play mainly power forward with the Bulls.

What does it give the San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs may not be completely rebuilding (yet), but they are definitely starting to retool. Adding both Young and Aminu should not change the course of action, either. In fact, both players could be traded or waived before the start of the 2021-22 campaign. Without DeRozan, San Antonio will rely more heavily on second-year swingman Devin Vassell and newcomers Doug McDermott and Zach Collins up front.

Fantasy impact
DeRozan may not have the ball as much now that he is with the Bulls, as players such as Ball, Zach LaVine and Coby White figure to be on the ball a lot more than what DeRozan was used to in San Antonio. Therefore, do not overrate DeRozan on draft day. Young's fantasy value is minimal, while Aminu's is even worse at this point.
