DENVER FETCHES FORBES IN THREE-WAY DEAL

In a three-team trade, the Denver Nuggets acquired guard Bryn Forbes from the San Antonio Spurs; the Boston Celtics acquired forward/guard P.J. Dozier and forward/center Bol Bol from the Nuggets; and San Antonio acquired forward Juancho Hernangomez and cash from the Celtics, and a protected second-round draft pick in 2028 and cash from the Nuggets.

What does it give the Denver Nuggets
Forbes is capable of playing both guard positions in the NBA, which adds to his potential value off the bench in Denver. With Jamal Murray still sidelined due to injury, Forbes could see most of his time at the point in the short term. He should help the Nuggets.

What does it give the Boston Celtics
The Celtics are receiving two injured players in this deal, so obviously they are looking beyond 2021-22 here. Both Dozier and Bol have upside, so both players could wind up as part of Boston's rotation in 2022-23. Neither is expected back this season.

What does it give the San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs get some forward depth in the form of Hernangomez, plus some cash back from both the Celtics and Nuggets. They also will receive a second-rounder in '28 from Denver. So, all told, they did OK here in exchange for Forbes.

Fantasy impact
Forbes could see additional playing time in Denver, so he may be worth picking up as a short-term fantasy fix. Dozier and Bol are keeper-league options, while Hernangomez can continue to be ignored in most formats this season.
