SPURS DEAL DERRICK WHITE TO BOSTON

The Boston Celtics acquired guard Derrick White from the San Antonio Spurs for forward/guard Josh Richardson, guard/forward Romeo Langford, a protected first-round draft pick in 2022 and the right to swap first-round draft picks in 2028.

What does it give the Boston Celtics
The Celtics get some much-needed help at the guard position with the addition of White, who can start at either guard position or come off the bench to provide offense. He replaces Dennis Schroder, who was traded before the deadline.

What does it give the San Antonio Spurs
Richardson and Langford will give San Antonio some wing depth and help curb the loss of White. The '22 first-rounder should help as long as the Celtics make the playoffs. The Spurs are in full-fledged rebuilding mode moving forward.

Fantasy impact
White could see his fantasy value dip a little with the Celtics, while neither Richardson nor Langford are automatic pickups as Spurs. However, monitor San Antonio's rotation and plan accordingly.
