HUERTER HEADS TO SACRAMENTO
The Sacramento Kings acquired guard/forward Kevin Huerter from the Atlanta Hawks for forward/guard Justin Holiday, forward Maurice Harkless and a protected first-round draft pick in 2024.
What does it give the Sacramento Kings
In Huerter, the Kings land a sharpshooting guard who should be a fixture in Sacramento's rotation moving forward. He came at a steep price but fills a huge need for the Kings. Huerter has a great opportunity to start opposite De'Aaron Fox at guard. His main competition will come from free-agent newcomer Malik Monk.
What does it give the Atlanta Hawks
For Atlanta, getting a lottery-protected first-round pick in '24 is huge here. They could use that draft capital to acquire help for the here and now. Also, Holliday and Harkless are veterans who could come off the bench for the Hawks in 2022-23. Atlanta is by no means done making moves this off-season. Expect them to continue fine-tuning their roster.
Fantasy impact
Huerter tends to run hot and cold (like most outside shooters) but he could see a boost in fantasy value after the move to Sacramento. Holiday figures to see a fair amount of playing time in '22-23, while Harkless may have trouble becoming a part of Atlanta's rotation next season.
