LAKERS BRING IN BEVERLEY
The Los Angeles Lakers acquired guard Patrick Beverley from the Utah Jazz for forward/guard Talen Horton-Tucker and forward Stanley Johnson.
What does it give the Los Angeles Lakers
For the Lakers, Beverley brings elite defense to the backcourt. He is very hard to play against, so he should help LA in 2022-23. He can start either at the point or at shooting guard, or come off the bench.
What does it give the Utah Jazz
The Jazz are rebuilding, so Horton-Tucker has a chance to see regular playing time in '22-23. Johnson may also come off the bench as part of the Utah rotation this season.
Fantasy impact
Beverley's fantasy value is limited, regardless of the team he plays for. He can be ignored in most drafts this year. Horton-Tucker has some sleeper appeal but is not a lock to be a recommendable draft option. Johnson's value is somewhat negligible at this time.
