AFFLALO TO DENVER

The Denver Nuggets acquired guard Arron Afflalo and forward Walter Sharpe from the Detroit Pistons for a 2011 second-round draft pick.

What does it give the Denver Nuggets
While he's not as polished, Afflalo gives the Nuggets a solid perimeter defender to replace Dahntay Jones, now with the Pacers. Still just 23, he also hit 40.2 percent of his long-range shots last season, giving Denver another dangerous deep threat. Sharpe remains a project, but is a tremendous athlete who has a chance to emerge as a solid bench player within Denver's high-octane system.

What does it give the Detroit Pistons
A good financial move from the Pistons, dealing the two depth players saves them almost $2 Million in salary-cap space. They not only gained the second-rounder, but were able to use that extra cash to sign free agent big man Chris Wilcox.
