GAY AND MILLS ON THE MOVE AGAIN
The Atlanta Hawks acquired guard Patty Mills from the Oklahoma City Thunder for guard TyTy Washington Jr., center/forwards Usman Garuba and Rudy Gay, and a second-round draft pick in 2026.
What does it give the Atlanta Hawks
Mills is experienced and savvy, and he can get hot in the scoring department off the bench. Look for Mills to serve as Trae Young's backup at point guard in 2023-24.
What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
For the Thunder, they just keep collecting young assets. Gay is the only veteran headed to OKC. Both Garuba and Washington Jr. have some interesting upside.
Fantasy impact
Mills and Gay are off the fantasy radar for the time being. The latter may not get much playing time in OKC, while Mills tends to run too hot and cold for fantasy purposes. Garuba and Washington Jr. are keeper-league options at this point.
