THUNDER TAKE ON KEVIN PORTER JR.

The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired guard Kevin Porter Jr., a second-round draft pick in 2027 and a second-round draft pick in 2028 from the Houston Rockets for guard Victor Oladipo and center/forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl.

What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
The Thunder continue to stockpile draft picks. Porter Jr. was immediately waived after his acquisition, as he faces legal issues off the court at present time. Oklahoma City did well to offload the contracts of Oladipo and Robinson-Earl here.

What does it give the Houston Rockets
For the Rockets, this move was mostly about getting out from under the Porter Jr. cloud. Adding Oladipo and Robinson-Earl might help Houston from a depth standpoint, but the Rockets spent two draft picks to make the Porter Jr. situation go away.

Fantasy impact
There is little fantasy impact here. Porter Jr. should not be drafted this year in most leagues because he may not play at all in the NBA (and his next team is unknown). Oladipo has gone through too many injury issues to be a fantasy factor at this point, while Robinson-Earl has no fantasy value.
