KNICKS, RAPTORS SWAP SIX!
The New York Knicks acquired forward/guard OG Anunoby, center/forward Precious Achiuwa and guard Malachi Flynn from the Toronto Raptors for forward/guard RJ Barrett, guard Immanuel Quickley and a second-round draft pick in 2024.
What does it give the New York Knicks
In Anunoby, the Knicks get a more proven defender than the player going the other way in this trade (Barrett). Achiuwa can play either center or power forward, so he should provide valuable minutes off the New York bench in 2024. Flynn could replace Quickley as the team's backup point guard behind Jalen Brunson. Overall, this is a solid trade for the Knicks because they filled most of their needs with this deal.
What does it give the Toronto Raptors
For Toronto, this deal is mostly about value. Barrett could become a superior offensive player than Anunoby was in Toronto, while Quickley has a chance to become the Raptors' new starting point guard. Furthermore, the draft pick acquired in this trade belongs to Detroit, so it should be a high second-round pick. This deal shakes things up for Toronto, but it is a good trade from a value perspective.
Fantasy impact
Anunoby and Barrett should continue to contribute regularly for their new teams, although Barrett may benefit more from a fantasy perspective. Achiuwa and Quickley may play more important minutes with their new teams, so both may be worth picking up in deeper leagues (especially Quickley). Flynn's value will likely disappear with the move to New York.
