HEAT AND HORNETS SWAP GUARDS

The Miami Heat acquired guard Terry Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets for guard Kyle Lowry and a first-round draft pick in 2027.

What does it give the Miami Heat
The Heat felt the need to upgrade their guard play, so adding Rozier is a good move. He usually played off the ball with LaMelo Ball in Charlotte, but look for him to replace Lowry as the point guard in Miami going forward. That should free Tyler Herro up to be more of a shooter than distributor.

What does it give the Charlotte Hornets
The Hornets are going nowhere, so it makes sense that they unloaded Rozier and got back a first-round draft pick. Lowry looks like a throw-in here, as he is a veteran on the down side of his illustrious NBA career. Reports suggest he will not be bought out, but could be traded again.

Fantasy impact
Rozier's assists numbers should improve after this trade, but he might not score as much in Miami. Grab him in multiple category leagues anyway. As for Lowry, his dwindling fantasy value continues to go down. Avoid him in most leagues.
