HAYWARD HEADS TO OKC

The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired forward/guard Gordon Hayward from the Charlotte Hornets for forward/guard Tre Mann, guard Vasiljje Micic, forward Davis Bertans, a second-round draft pick in 2024 and a second-round draft pick in 2025.

What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
Hayward is often injured, but when healthy he can provide tremendous outside shooting. He also has a wealth of experience, so he should be a good fit with the very young and talented Thunder. Look for Hayward to come off the bench.

What does it give the Charlotte Hornets
Mann and Micic are interesting pieces heading back to Charlotte in this trade. The two second-round picks are nice for the future, while Bertans adds experience and depth (if he sticks around). This is a good haul in return for a fragile player like Hayward.

Fantasy impact
Hayward is too prone to injury to trust in fantasy circles, so buyer beware. Mann and Micic might be worth a look in deeper leagues, since Charlotte is clearly starting over at this point. Bertans has little value at this stage of his NBA career.
