DENNIS SCHRODER DEALT TO THE NETS

The Brooklyn Nets acquired guard Dennis Schroder and forward/center Thaddeus Young from the Toronto Raptors for guard Spender Dinwiddie.

What does it give the Brooklyn Nets
The Nets add veteran talent in both Schroder, who should now join their rotation, and Young, who is still a solid depth option. Dinwiddie had not been working out in Brooklyn recently. With Schroder also signed for next season, this trade allows the Nets to move forward and attempt to remain in the playoff hunt now.

What does it give the Toronto Raptors
Toronto is expected to waive Dinwiddie, who had underperformed recently and was due a bonus for games played in the near future. They also move on from the contracts of both Schroder and Young, opening up roster spots and flexibility for upcoming moves.

Fantasy impact
Schroder gets a solid boost from what should be an increased role in Brooklyn. Meanwhile, the departures from Toronto open up playing time for names like Bruce Brown, Gary Trent Jr. and new Raptor Ochai Agbaji, but wait and see on their usage.
