HAWKS GET JAMAL CRAWFORD

The Atlanta Hawks acquired guard Jamal Crawford for the Golden State Warriors for guards Acie Law and Speedy Claxton.

What does it give the Atlanta Hawks
Crawford is an above-average talent who can play both shooting guard and the point, and is a nice fit for a young and athletic Hawks squad. While he has the goods to be a starter it remains to be seen where he will play, since Mike Bibby is the current top point guard for Atlanta and All-Star Joe Johnson is at the 2-guard position. Johnson may move to small forward, but young Marvin Williams seems entrenched there. Regardless of where he plays, Crawford is sure to bring instant offense to the Atlanta rotation.

What does it give the Golden State Warriors
Warriors head coach Don Nelson had a falling out with Crawford after acquiring him last season for another player he fell out with (Al Harrington), and Golden State's drafting of combo guard Stephen Curry helps fill the void left by Crawford. In Claxton the Warriors get a contract that will expire after next season, and Law is a solid combo guard who may still have some upside.
