AVDIJA ADDED BY PORTLAND

The Portland Trail Blazers acquired forward/guard Deni Avdija from the Washington Wizards for guard Malcolm Brogdon, a first-round draft pick in 2024 (No. 14 overall), a conditional first-round draft pick in 2029, a second-round draft pick in 2028 and a second-round draft pick in 2030.

What does it give the Portland Trail Blazers
The Trail Blazers need more talent in this post-Damian-Lillard existence, so the hope here is that Avdija can take a step up from his overall play in Washington. He should see the ball a lot more in Portland, so it is possible that he can be a breakout star.

What does it give the Washington Wizards
The Wizards have decided to strip it down completely and start over. So, it makes sense that they added four future assets here. Brogdon is a solid veteran who will mentor Bub Carrington, the 14th overall pick in this year's draft selected as part of this trade.

Fantasy impact
All of Avdija, Brogdon and Carrington should be in a better situation after this trade. Avdija could be worth a speculative draft pick in the later rounds this year, while Brogdon and Carrington might end up sharing point guard duties in D.C. Carrington is the better option in keeper leagues, but Brogdon might have more value in re-draft formats.
