DEMAR DEROZAN DEALT IN 3-TEAM TRADE

In a three-team trade, the Sacramento Kings acquired forward DeMar DeRozan from the Chicago Bulls; Chicago acquired forward/guard Chris Duarte, two future second-round draft picks and cash considerations from the Kings, and forward RaiQuan Gray from the San Antonio Spurs; and San Antonio acquired forward Harrison Barnes and the right to swap first-round draft picks in 2031 from the Kings.

What does it give the Sacramento Kings
The Kings are upgrading at the small forward position by shipping out Barnes in favor of DeRozan. The latter is still a difference-making forward in the NBA, and his scoring and leadership should greatly help Sacramento in their quest to get over the hump in the Western Conference.

What does it give the Chicago Bulls
The Bulls are in the process of starting over, for all intents and purposes. So, moving out DeRozan at this time makes sense. Duarte is a serviceable wing player who could play more minutes in Chicago, but it is the two future second-round picks that are keys to this deal for Chicago.

What does it give the San Antonio Spurs
For the Spurs, this is a terrific trade. Barnes, who looks like a salary dump by Sacramento in order to add DeRozan to the mix, should be an excellent role player for the young Spurs. Gray is unlikely to be missed by San Antonio much, since they have plenty of young talent.

Fantasy impact
DeRozan is still a fantasy-relevant player, but a move to Sacramento could hurt his value a bit. Barnes is no longer much of an impact player in fantasy circles, while Duarte and Gray are wild cards as Chicago Bulls. Act accordingly.
