The Dallas Mavericks acquired forward Shawne Williams from the Indiana Pacers for guard Eddie Jones, two second-round draft picks and cash.
What does it give the Dallas Mavericks
Williams is somewhat of a problem child with a checkered history, but he does have the talent to play regularly in the NBA. Will the Mavs, who already have a mercurial soul in small forward Josh Howard, be able to reign Williams in?
What does it give the Indiana Pacers
The Pacers were glad to rid themselves of Williams. How much so? Jones will probably be waived, so the deal will end up being two future second rounders and less than $2 million in cash in exchange for the Pacers' first-round pick (No. 17 overall) in 2006.
