OBERTO ON THE MOVE AGAIN

The Detroit Pistons acquired center Fabricio Oberto from the Milwaukee Bucks for forward Amir Johnson.

What does it give the Detroit Pistons
While Oberto and Johnson have similar contracts (for one year at roughly the same amount of money), not all of Oberto's deal is guaranteed. The Detroit News reports the Pistons plan on waiving Oberto, and in doing so saving almost $2 Million in salary cap space. That will give them more flexibility as the NBA Draft and free agency approach.

What does it give the Milwaukee Bucks
Johnson opened last season as the Pistons' starting center, so he has some talent (especially as a defender and rebounder). He is still young enough to continue developing, and has a lot of raw talent. The Bucks obviously see that potential and are willing to take a chance on him.
