DOOLING HEADS TO BEANTOWN FOR MIRALLES
The Boston Celtics acquired Keyon Dooling and a 2012 protected second-round draft pick from the Milwaukee Bucks for the draft rights to Albert Miralles.
What does it give the Boston Celtics
The Celts are a veteran team still trying to contend so adding a gritty veteran combo guard in Dooling is a nice depth move. He has an affordable contract that expires after this season (so is fairly low-risk) and brings a professional approach. The second-round pick is a nice bonus.
What does it give the Milwaukee Bucks
This deal is mostly about dropping payroll for the Bucks, since Miralles hasn't really become a star in Europe and it's unclear when or if he'll ever make the move to the NBA. Milwaukee already has two above-average options at the point in Brandon Jennings and Beno Udrih, so moving Dooling was an easy decision for them.
