SIXERS SNAG KAPONO
The Philadelphia 76ers acquired forward Jason Kapono from the Toronto Raptors for forward Reggie Evans.
What does it give the Philadelphia 76ers
Last season the Sixers made the second-fewest three-pointers in the NBA (just 341 in total) so bringing in the NBA's all-time career leader in 3-point percentage (tied with the retired Steve Kerr at .454) is a nice move. The fact Kapono also has one year fewer left on his contract than Evans is an added bonus for Philly.
What does it give the Toronto Raptors
In bringing in Evans the Raptors free up some more salary cap space, which should help them to bolster their roster quickly following a disappointing campaign (while also planning for the possibility superstar Chris Bosh doesn't return after next season). On the court, Evans mostly only provides rebounding but he does that well and the Raptors need depth in that area.
