RAPTORS GET ALABI

The Toronto Raptors acquired the rights to center Solomon Alabi from the Dallas Mavericks for a future second-round draft pick and cash considerations.

What does it give the Toronto Raptors
Alabi has the raw potential to be an above-average NBA center a few years from now (especially defensively) and the Raptors need more players like that. Draft Express reports the reason Alabi dropped so much in the draft was because of word teams got that he suffers from Hepatitis B (which does not appear to affect his long-term potential as an NBA player).

What does it give the Dallas Mavericks
The Mavs are already well-stocked at the center spot, and they already added a new player in the draft by dealing with Memphis for combo guard Dominique Jones. Here, Dallas gets back some of the cash they lost in the Jones deal, and the future second-rounder is a solid (if not great) building block.
