BUCKS GET DALEMBERT FOR PLAYERS, PICK

The Milwaukee Bucks acquired center Samuel Dalembert and a 2012 first-round draft pick, No. 14 overall from the Houston Rockets for forward Jon Leuer, guard Shaun Livingston, power forward Jon Brockman, and a 2012 first-round draft pick, No. 12 overall.

What does it give the Milwaukee Bucks
This is a nice deal for the Bucks, who get a quality defensive center without dropping much in this year's draft. Having traded {P Andrew Bogut} earlier this year to Golden State, Milwaukee had a hole in the middle and Dalembert can fill it for at least the final year of his contract. This move takes some pressure off young pivot {P Ekpe Udoh}, and should help the Bucks make a push for the playoffs. If Dalembert doesn't pan out the team can let him leave next summer via free agency.

What does it give the Houston Rockets
Houston is clearly trying to stockpile first-round picks for this year's draft, and now they have three (including their upgrade here). Rumors are rampant that the Rockets are trying to land one of several veteran star offensive centers, and this may well help them do it. As for the three young players they receive, Leuer and Livingston may wind up being solid rotation guys off the bench and Brockman brings passable depth in the paint now that Dalembert is gone.
