CAVS NOT DONE!

The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired guard/forward Wally Szczerbiak and guard Delonte West from the Seattle SuperSonics for guard/forward Adrian Griffin, forward Donyell Marshall and forward Ira Newble.

What does it give the Cleveland Cavaliers
By adding Szczerbiak and West, the Cavs essentially added a new starting backcourt. That complements the new frontcourt pair they brought in on deadline day in Ben Wallace and Joe Smith. The two deals basically give Cleveland a new supporting cast for LeBron James and Ilgauskas, and surely enhances their Finals chances both this season and for the next few to come.

What does it give the Seattle SuperSonics
This deal is all about clearing up salary cap space for the Sonics. West wasn't a good fit for them and Szczerbiak wasn't a cornerstone, so getting the two of them out of town helps speed up the Seattle rebuilding project. Griffin, who the Cavs acquired during the day from the Bulls, appears to be a throw-in to make the numbers work.
