BOBS GET MCBOB FROM MAGIC FOR WARRICK

The Charlotte Bobcats acquired power forward / center Josh McRoberts from the Orlando Magic for combo forward Hakim Warrick.

What does it give the Charlotte Hornets
The Bobcats were hoping the super-athletic Warrick would provide a veteran spark for them but things didn't work out that way. He also has another year on his contract after this one, so adding big 'McBob' (who's deal is expiring) gives them some monetary wiggle room. Moreover, McRoberts can play some center, and probably has the greater upside of the two players involved here.

What does it give the Orlando Magic
The Magic have been dumping veterans for the past several months, leaving them with a very, very young squad. That continues with this deal, as McRoberts was moved to Charlotte and now his replacement, Warrick, has already been waived by the Magic following this deal (in an obvious money-saving move).

Fantasy impact
McRoberts has a chance to push for regular minutes in Charlotte's far-from-established big man rotation, so he gets added value with this trade. The likes of {P Tyrus Thomas} and perhaps {P Brendan Haywood} may see fewer opportunties as a result. For Orlando, the loss of McRoberts doesn't affect their usual big men much since he wasn't playing significant minutes lately.
