ROBERSON DEALT AGAIN, THIS TIME FOR GOODWIN
The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired the rights to combo forward Andre Roberson from the Golden State Warriors for the rights to shooting guard Archie Goodwin and cash.
What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
Oklahoma City may be the most skilled team in the NBA but they sometimes struggle with defensive depth in the post. Roberson isn't a cure-all to those issues but he is a player who should be able to step in immediately and provide a lot of energy and toughness. Roberson landing in the first round was seen by some as a stretch but it makes some sense for a talented Thunder team in need of role-playing depth.
What does it give the Golden State Warriors
Golden State went on to trade Goodwin to Phoenix in return for combo guard prospect {P Nemanja Nedovic}, so they wind up with a talented first-rounder as well as some cash (in return for moving down in the draft for Goodwin). Nice dealing, especially since Nedovic is probably closer to regular NBA readiness than Goodwin (which fits well with the Warriors' fast-rising squad).
Fantasy impact
Roberson has the tools to push his way into Oklahoma City's rotation as an energy guy off the pine, but if he does he probably won't be too fantasy-viable (since most of his contributions will be on the defensive end). For the Warriors Nedovic probably isn't quite NBA-ready yet, and for the Suns Goodwin is the same.
