RICE JR. TO WIZARDS FOR RIGHTS TO WOLTERS, KAZEMI

The Washington Wizards acquired the rights to shooting guard-small forward Glen Rice Jr. from the Philadelphia 76ers for the rights to point guard Nate Wolters and power forward Arsalan Kazemi.

What does it give the Washington Wizards
The Wiz suddenly have a glut of small forward options on their roster, after adding Rice Jr. here following the drafting of {P Otto Porter} as their likely starter at the 3-spot. The fact Rice Jr. can also play shooting guard adds to his value (and to Washington's depth behind young star {P Bradley Beal}), and Rice Jr. will probably eventually emerge as a key rotation guy for a young and talented Wizards core.

What does it give the Philadelphia 76ers
The Sixers eventually shipped the rights to Wolters off to Milwaukee for ultimately is future considerations (via Atlanta), so for Philly this deal is really about getting the rights to Kazemi. He is a long and athletic energy guy who can help them with grit and a boost off the bench.

Fantasy impact
Rice is an exciting player but a little raw and doesn't project to being in the mix for a starting job in Washington yet. Kazemi is in a similar situation in Philly (stuck behind several proven forwards) so don't expect a lot from either of these second-round draftees in 2013-14.
