THUNDER BRING IN BIG-MAN JERRETT FROM BLAZERS

The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired the draft rights to power forward Grant Jerrett from the Portland Trail Blazers for cash.

What does it give the Portland Trail Blazers
The Blazers have three new players following the draft (including guard {P C.J. McCollum} and centers {P Jeff Withey} and {P Marko Todorovic}) so adding a fourth clearly wasn't in their roster plans. The cash they get from the Thunder will help pay for the other three.

What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
Very quietly over the past year or so the Thunder have been stockpiling talented big men, and Jerrett has a nice mix of wingspan and perimeter shooting ability. Like many of the other big guys now in Oklahoma City he is still pretty unpolished, and like the others has intriguing talent and upside. Nice low-risk move by the Thunder here.

Fantasy impact
Jerrett didn't play much in college last year, so to expect him to break into the Thunder's stellar rotation anytime soon is unwise. That said, keep him on the long-range keeper list, since he has great hands for a guy his size and could develop a nice inside-outside game down the road. Nothing changes fantasy-wise in Portland.
