BOBS BRING IN RIDNOUR, NEAL FOR SESSIONS, ADRIEN

The Charlotte Bobcats acquired combo guards Luke Ridnour and Gary Neal from the Milwaukee Bucks for combo guard Ramon Sessions and combo forward Jeff Adrien.

What does it give the Charlotte Hornets
Not many expected Charlotte to be in the playoff hunt but they are, and this deal probably boosts their postseason chances a bit. They take on a bit more salary for next season in Neal's deal, but he can help them more than Adrien was. Moreover, both Neal and Ridnour can provide perimeter shooting as well as playmaking, so they give the Bobcats a little more offensive balance than Sessions provided.

What does it give the Milwaukee Bucks
For the bottom-dwelling Bucks this deal is mostly about getting rid of next season's contract commitment to Neal, a veteran who hasn't panned out for them. Sessions was formerly with the Bucks and so they know what they're getting with him (and that includes his expiring contract). Adrien has some talent and might get an audition from Milwaukee down the stretch, but his deal too expires after this season.

Fantasy impact
Ridnour has a chance to be a rotation regular for Charlotte, as he's a savvy veteran who can both run the point and provide perimeter scoring. The same goes for Sessions in Milwaukee; he can take the minutes left by both Ridnour and Neal, and is a player worth tracking in fantasy leagues. This trade probably hurts the fantasy fortunes (at least in the short term) of impressive rookie combo guard {P Nate Wolters} of the Bucks, as he could see a drop in minutes with Sessions around. Neal doesn't project to being as useful (since he's more a one-dimensional shooter) and it will be surprising if Adrien is a factor anytime soon for the Bucks.
