HAWKS LAND JAMISON FROM L.A. CLIPS

The Atlanta Hawks acquired combo forward Antawn Jamison from the Los Angeles Clippers for cash and the rights to guard Cenk Akyol.

What does it give the Atlanta Hawks
Jamison is a veteran leader but it's unclear at this point whether Atlanta will keep him on their roster. If they do, he can help the Hawks hold onto their current playoff seeding by providing depth at both forward spots, and by joining fellow greybeard {P Elton Brand} in helping lead the Hawks in the locker room. The cash helps pay for Jamison's contract.

What does it give the Los Angeles Clippers
The Clips save some cap space and salary money here (although not that much), while opening up a roster spot they can use to add another player down the stretch. Jamison wasn't playing for L.A. much lately, and it won't be surprising if they bring in a forward who's a better fit for their mostly young, up-tempo squad. Akyol is fairly talented player who is currently in Europe (although he isn't exactly lighting it up in the Turkish League this season), and at 26 he hasn't made the jump to the NBA yet.

Fantasy impact
Jamison's move here doesn't affect either team fantasy-wise, as the former star has become a fringe player over the past few seasons. Meanwhile Akyol hasn't yet shown enough to be worth keeping on the keeper radar.
