BULLS DROP MORE SALARY, SEND RANDOLPH TO MAGIC

The Orlando Magic acquired combo forward Anthony Randolph, cash considerations, and two future second-round draft picks from the Chicago Bulls for the draft rights to power forward Milovan Rakovic.

What does it give the Orlando Magic
Despite his untapped talent, Randolph isn't expected to be kept on Orlando's roster. For the Magic this deal is clearly more about the two future second-round draft pick assets. The solid Rakovic never left Europe for the NBA, and probably wouldn't have been an ideal fit for a very young and rebuilding Magic squad that already has several talented big men.

What does it give the Chicago Bulls
Randolph was set to make roughly $1.8 million next season, and that money will be needed by the Bulls to sign key free agent {P=413 Pau Gasol}. While Chicago gets some cash back in this deal the motivation is clear: free up cap space for Gasol. Rakovic is a solid bonus for Chicago if the Bulls ever decide to bring him over from Europe, since he's a polished veteran big man who might be able to provide some depth. Then again, at 29 years old Rakovic coming to the NBA might be a stretch.

Fantasy impact
There's no fantasy impact on either team in this deal. Randolph remains a deep sleeper, but he's only radar-worthy in the deepest of leagues (and only if he catches on with another NBA team soon). Rakovic is a solid all-round power forward, but he's still in Europe and projects as a depth / role player if he ever decides to join the NBA.
