BLAZERS LAND LAYMAN FROM MAGIC

Ther Portland Trail Blazers acquired the rights to wing player Jake Layman from the Orlando Magic for a 2nd round draft pick in 2019 and cash considerations.

What does it give the Portland Trail Blazers
The past few years the Blazers have done a nice job of finding affordable talent, and Layman looks like the latest example. He's highly athletic and a nice fit for the young, up-tempo team Portland is building. He's also a second-round pick, so won't break the bank.

What does it give the Orlando Magic
The Magic is already overloaded with young talent (both on the active roster and in Europe) so obviously team brass decided there was no room for another second-rounder.

Fantasy impact
Layman has the tools to eventually be a solid rotational player in the NBA, but don't expect too much in his rookie season.
