CAVS FIND A REPLACEMENT FOR DELLY, ADD DUN
The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired small forward / shooting guard Mike Dunleavy and the rights to Vladimir Veremeenko from the Chicago Bulls for the rights to power forward / center Albert Miralles.
What does it give the Cleveland Cavaliers
The defending champion Cavs need quality veterans to defend their title, and Dunleavy can help. He essentially replaces the role and production of Matthew Dellavedova (who signed with Milwaukee). Dun is quietly one of the NBA's top complementary veterans, and does a little of everything well. While his contract isn't peanuts by NBA standards, it's also very affordable by current free agency rates (so acquiring him here is much cheaper for cap-stressed Cleveland than a free agent would have been). Meanwhile, vet European big man Veremeenko might conceivably find his way to Cleveland this coming season, since he doesn't currently hold a contract with another club.
What does it give the Chicago Bulls
At age 34 and playing in Europe, Miralles seems highly unlikely to make the jump to the NBA. He's clearly Chicago's way of getting anything tangible back in this swap (which is an NBA rules requirement), but ultimately all the Bulls get here by moving Dunleavy is a savings in salary.
Fantasy impact
Dunleavy is no longer a stat stuffer (and neither was Dellavedova with the Cavs) and he isn't likely to play a big-minute role with Cleveland, so there's little fantasy fallout on either team with this swap.
