THUNDER LANDS LATAVIOUS

The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired the rights to forward Latavious Williams from the Miami Heat for a second-round draft pick in 2011.

What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
Oklahoma City GM Sam Presti has a keen eye for high-upside sleepers and Williams is exactly that. He isnt close to playing regularly in the NBA but made great strides in the NBA D-League last season, and gives the Thunder yet another super-athletic young big man for the future.

What does it give the Miami Heat
Miami is obviously trying to clear cap space to try to re-sign Dwayne Wade (and if not Wade, another franchise player) so adding another player contract clearly wasn't in the plans. Getting a 2011 second-rounder makes this a break-even deal for them.
