WOLVES PICK UP VET DANIELS FOR TWO RESERVES

New Orleans Hornets acquired Bobby Brown and Darius Songaila from the Minnesota Timberwolves for Antonio Daniels and a second-round pick in 2014.

What does it give the New Orleans Pelicans
Daniels is a solid, underrated, and very sure-handed backup point guard who can capably fill in as starter when the need arises. The T-Wolves are a young team, and he can be a mentor to rookie point-man Jonny Flynn while providing veteran stabiity behind talented soon-to-be-signed probable starter Ramon Sessions.

What does it give the Minnesota Timberwolves
The Hornets drafted quality point guard Darren Collison this summer and he has the goods to eventually be a very good backup to superstar Chris Paul at the point. In the meantime Brown is probably a better fit backing up Paul in the Hornets' youthful, up-tempo system than Daniels was. Songaila is a useful veteran backup who can spot-star at both power forward and center, so overall these are solid bench additions for New Orleans.
