CATS, MAGIG EXCHANGE YOUNGSTERS

The Charlotte Bobcats acquired guard Keith Bogans from the Orlando Magic for forward Brandon Hunter.

What does it give the Charlotte Hornets
A possible starter at shooting guard. After their expansion draft and a summer of wheeling and dealing, the team's major weakness is at guard. Bogans should help, as he's a versatile scorer who seems to just be coming into his own after a strong season with Orlando and a great summer league effort. Along with Gerald Wallace and Primoz Brezec, he could become one of the main offensive options for the young 'Cats.

What does it give the Orlando Magic
A big body with some upside. Orlando is almost completely re-tooled this season, and after all the tweaking they were left without much depth in the post. Hunter has potential and showed last season with Boston he can throw his weight around--a quality the Magic have sorely needed for years now and will get with the addition of Dwight Howard, Kelvin Cato, and now Hunter. He isn't a top prospect but he does have talent and could develop into a very good player down the road--just don't expect it this year.
