WIZ, T-WOLVES SWAP PROSPECTS

The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired the rights to forwards Lazar Hayward and Nemanja Bjelica from the Washington Wizards for the rights to forward Trevor Booker and the rights to center Hamady Ndiaye.

What does it give the Minnesota Timberwolves
Hayward will immediately provide solid and versatile depth at forward for the T-Wolves, while Bjelica may be the gem of this deal down the road if he develops into the above-average NBA point forward some believe he can be. In the short term, however, Minny lost the most NBA-ready of the four players in the exciting Booker, and Ndiaye could have helped them soon defensively. The real winner of this deal will probably be known several years from now.

What does it give the Washington Wizards
The Wizards will get a nice boost off the bench from the high-flying Booker, and Ndiaye gives them much-needed depth at center. So short-term, this is a win for the Wiz... although if Bjelica plays up to his potential when he arrives in the NBA, Washington may regret giving him up.
