JAGUARS ADD LEFT TACKLE BRANDEN ALBERT

The Jacksonville Jaguars acquired offensive lineman Branden Albert from the Miami Dolphins for a seventh-round draft pick in 2018.

What does it give the Jacksonville Jaguars
In Albert, the Jaguars hope he can provide better overall play for quarterback Blake Bortles' blindside than Kelvin Beachum did in 2016. Luke Joeckel was another failed left offensive tackle for Jacksonville, so Albert is viewed as the right veteran to plug this hole.

What does it give the Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins no longer needed Albert, since they plan to permanently switch second-year O-lineman Laremy Tunsil from left guard to left tackle. Therefore, they quickly struck up this deal to send Albert north to Jacksonville. Miami accepted a seventh rounder in return.

Fantasy impact
Bortles has plenty of fantasy value, so he should be improved if Albert can better protect oncoming pass rushers. That said, Bortles has several other issues (most of which Albert cannot fix).
