PATRIOTS ADD PASS RUSHER CASSIUS MARSH

The New England Patriots acquired defensive end / linebacker Cassius Marsh from the Seattle Seahawks for a 5th-round draft pick in 2018 and a 7th-round draft pick in 2018.

What does it give the New England Patriots
New England is in need of depth at defensive end, and Marsh is an underrated talent who can provide it. The retirement of Rob Ninkovich and the recent release of Kony Ealy combined to create a depth void, and rookie Derek Rivers tearing an ACL makes the need that much greater. Marsh has been very solid in limited duty for the Seahawks, so he can be a steal here for the Pats.

What does it give the Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks have been juggling things on the defensive line lately, and their recent acquisition of Sheldon Richardson contributed to making Marsh expendable. The draft pick haul is fairly impressive here for a depth player (Marsh), so this is a solid swap by the Seahawks.

Fantasy impact
Marsh gets a small boost in sleeper appeal for fantasy leagues featuring Individual Defensive Players, but he's not a must pick-up yet. Keep an eye on how his role evolves in New England.
