BEARS BOOST WIDEOUT DEPTH WITH INMAN

The Chicago Bears acquired wide receiver Dontrelle Inman from the Los Angeles Chargers for a conditional 7th-round draft pick in 2018.

What does it give the Chicago Bears
The dismal Bears offense is looking for answers, and maybe Inman can be one of them. Last season he started 16 games for the Chargers, posting solid totals of 810 receiving yards and four touchdowns--so he can at least be a decent depth option behind putative starters Kendall Wright and Tre McBride III (with a chance to push McBride for starts).

What does it give the Los Angeles Chargers
With highly touted rookie wideout Mike Williams getting healthy, the Chargers wide receiver corps is suddenly very crowded. Inman became the odd man out, but it's not surprising because preseason rumors suggested he was on the trading block. The draft pick won't likely bring a player as useful as Inman was, but the Chargers obviously weren't in a strong negotiating position.

Fantasy impact
Inman might be worth keeping in mind for fantasy teams in desperate need of a wide receiver; he has the talent to challenge for a starting job with the Bears soon. That said, even if he becomes a regular for targets with Chicago, don't expect big numbers from Inman (mostly because the entire Chicago offense struggles to produce).
