RAMS REEL IN TALENTED CORNERBACK PETERS
The Los Angeles Rams acquired cornerback Marcus Peters and a 6th-round draft pick in 2018 from the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2nd-round draft pick in 2019 and a 4th-round draft pick in 2018.
What does it give the Los Angeles Rams
Peters is a very talented young starting cornerback with a very affordable contract, so overall this is a great addition for a rising Rams squad. Getting the sixth-rounder as well (No. 196 overall) is a bit of a coup, but the key here is bolstering an already-impressive young defense with a playmaker in Peters.
What does it give the Kansas City Chiefs
Peters is a definite talent but he was suspended one game for throwing an official's flag into the stands last season (raising questions about his maturity level). The Chiefs should be able to land quality players with the second- and fourth-round draft picks, so this is a nice return for a quality player.
Fantasy impact
Peters is a fantasy factor in leagues featuring Individual Defensive Players, mostly because he's an interception threat. The fact he's joining a strong defense will only help, as might him returning to his home state (California).
