EAGLES BRING IN VET PASS-RUSHER BENNETT
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired Michael Bennett and a 7th-round draft pick in 2018 from the Seattle Seahawks for wideout Marcus Johnson and a 5th-round draft pick in 2018.
What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
Bennett is a veteran star defensive lineman, so he'll make for a very nice rotational option joining the defending champs' already-potent D-line group. Bennett isn't quite as dominance as earlier in his career, but considering Philly's contending status--and their depth on the defensive line--this makes for a superb move all-round.
What does it give the Seattle Seahawks
Johnson and the slight pick upgrade aren't exactly prized assets, but for Seattle the key here is dropping roughly $6 million in salary. That can help the Seahawks add needed pieces to other areas of the roster, and it looks like Dion Jordan might be able to take a step up and replace Bennett's production.
Fantasy impact
There's very little fantasy impact as a result of this deal. Bennett isn't a top-tier option anymore in leagues featuring Individual Defensive Players, and his arrival on the Eagles probably hurts the respective fantasy values of talented players such as Derek Barnett, Brandon Graham, and Vinny Curry. On the Seattle side of things, it's hard to imagine Johnson playing much of a role (if any) with his new squad anytime soon.
