RAIDERS REEL IN WIDE RECEIVER MARTAVIS BRYANT
The Oakland Raiders acquired wide receiver Martavis Bryant from the Pittsburgh Steelers for a third-round draft pick in 2018 (No. 79 overall).
What does it give the Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders land a supremely talented wideout in Bryant, though one with some baggage. He will team with Amari Cooper and veteran Jordy Nelson to give quarterback Derek Carr three excellent options at wide receiver. Bryant has a chance to become a Pro Bowler in Oakland.
What does it give the Pittsburgh Steelers
For the Steelers, this deal is mostly about dumping the distraction that Bryant had become. He essentially lost the No. 2 wide receiver job to JuJu Smith-Schuster last season, so they will take a third rounder here and move on. This is a good deal for everyone.
Fantasy impact
Bryant's fantasy stock stays relatively unchanged moving from Pittsburgh to Oakland, though he is likely happy to be changing teams and might put up monster numbers in 2018 as a result. This deal also helps Smith-Schuster and the rest of Pittsburgh's WR brigade, while it slightly diminishes the fantasy value of both Cooper and Nelson. Slightly.
