COWBOYS ADD AUSTIN TO THE MIX

The Dallas Cowboys acquired running back/wide receiver Tavon Austin from the Los Angeles Rams for a sixth-round draft pick in 2018 (No. 192 overall).

What does it give the Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys will use Austin mostly out of the backfield, so he should serve as a change-of-pace back to superstar Ezekiel Elliott. Look for Austin to also be utilized in the return game. He has been a major disappointment so far in the NFL, but maybe a change of scenery will help.

What does it give the Los Angeles Rams
The Rams finally decided to give up on Austin after several underachieving seasons. He lost his job as a wideout last season and was not much of a factor as a runner (especially playing behind superstar Todd Gurley). The Rams did their best here by getting back a sixth rounder.

Fantasy impact
At this point in his NFL career, Austin is no more than a fantasy dart throw. At the very best, he will be classified as a fantasy dark horse for 2018.
