For the Packers, this trade helps them with their depth at inside linebacker (especially following the season-ending knee injury to Jake Ryan). Look for Morrison to play a rotational role for Green Bay this season.
What does it give the Indianapolis Colts
For the Colts, this trade helps them in the secondary (while also moves on from Morrison, who struggled as a starter for Indianapolis last season). Pipkins has a chance to stick as a backup defensive back.
Fantasy impact
This trade does very little for fantasy football leaguers, even those in IDP (Individual Defensive Player) leagues. That is because both Morrison and Pipkins will likely serve a backup role with their new teams.
