BRETT JONES JETTISONED TO MINNESOTA

The Minnesota Vikings acquired center/guard Brett Jones from the New York Giants for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2019.

What does it give the Minnesota Vikings
This is a depth move for the Vikings, whose projected starting center (Pat Elflein) is dealing with a few injuries so far this training camp. Jones will back up both at center and guard for Minnesota.

What does it give the New York Giants
The Giants were content moving forward with Jon Halapio as their starting center, with veteran Jon Greco as his backup. Therefore, they decided to part ways with Jones for a very marginal return.

Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Jones will probably not play enough to factor in as a blocker for either Minnesota's running game or passing attack.
