HUNDLEY HEADS TO SEATTLE
The Seattle Seahawks acquired quarterback Brett Hundley from the Green Bay Packers for a sixth-round draft pick in 2019.
What does it give the Seattle Seahawks
For Seattle, this deal is about upgrading the quarterback position behind superstar Russell Wilson. Enter Hundley, who now has the inside track to serve as the No. 2 QB for the Seahawks (ahead of Austin Davis and Alex McGough). Since Wilson takes risks on the field, Hundley is a decent insurance policy for Seattle.
What does it give the Green Bay Packers
For Green Bay, this trade is a vote of confidence to DeShone Kizer (who was acquired by the Packers from Cleveland in a six-player deal this past off-season). Kizer will now serve as Aaron Rodgers' backup. Obviously, Green Bay views Kizer as an upgrade over Hundley (who struggled in Rodgers' absence last year).
Fantasy impact
Both Hundley and Kizer have handcuff fantasy value now, as Wilson's and Rodgers' backups, respectively. Beyond that, this trade changes little in terms of Hundley's long-range fantasy future.
